Disclaimer
While we strive to provide
accurate information, the articulation of courses between schools
can change frequently. Accordingly, the information provided in the
Office of Admissions' Credit Transfer Service is subject to change.

Limitations of Database
We include the
articulations of over 30,000 courses from more than 300 schools. However,
not every school in the world or even in the U.S. is in the database,
nor is every course available from those schools that are listed in
the system. What is there represents the most commonly occurring articulations
that we process. If the school, department, or course you need is
not found, and you are a current IU student, you can use the credit
transfer agreement to request an individual articulation. The
directions for its use are included with the form. You must meet the
deadlines published on the form to receive this advanced articulation.

Transfer Policies
Credit Transfer Agreement (CTA) Policies and Information
If the courses you wish to transfer to IU are listed
on the Credit Transfer Service web page, you should not complete a
CTA form. You can simply print your shopping cart of courses and keep
it for your personal record. Your academic advisor also has access
to this system and can print a copy of your shopping cart for your
file.
If you are sure your school or course is not in our data base and you are a current IU student, you can request an individual articulation by downloading and mailing us the completed Credit Agreement form, along with the course descriptions. You can go directly to the instructions and the form by following the link.
* Please note: If you will be an incoming freshman for the fall semester, credit cannot be evaluated until you have submitted your enrollment deposit.

UNDI Courses
Even if IU doesn't offer
a course equivalent to the one you took, we are often able to
grant you credits in the corresponding IU department. These are
called "undistributed" (UNDI) credits because we can't
give them a specific IU course number. In addition, most courses
in fine arts, music, Slavic languages, East Asian languages, and
300-400 level business are transferred to IU as undistributed
according to these departments' instructions. The decision as
to how UNDI courses will fit into your degree program is made
by the school/division in which you are pursing your degree. Please
contact them for additional information.

IU Credit Explanation
Not all of our articulations in our database display the IU Credits you will receive. Once again, this is a limitation of our database. When you see a zero, this does not necessarily mean you will not receive IU credit. The purpose of this web site is to show you which courses will transfer in. If your school is on a semester system, then the course hours will transfer the same, but if your school is on the quarter system, then the course hours will be reduced by two-thirds. If your school's course credit is given as a "unit", then there should still be a semester or quarter hour equivalency and the previous statement still applies.
